Monday Drive: Rearrange

Here’s a fact for you. Sometimes when I feel anxious, I clean. This weekend I had a million things on my mind, but we cleaned last weekend so there went that remedy and I needed to find something to de-stress. After hauling off our Christmas tree at Forest Park, we drove to Missouri Botanical Gardens to enjoy the sunshine and warmer than average temperatures Saturday. We jogged around the gardens, had sushi in Tower Grove & then stopped by Target. It was one of those trips that we had to do a complete restock as we were literally out of everything.

By the time we got home, I was exhausted. M had to work for a while, but he offered to park the car while I unpacked groceries. When he got back, (keep in mind our parking garage is 3 minutes away) I had moved everything in the living room into the center. I was ready to re-arrange. Love. His. Heart. Because my fiance is a complete Saint, I am no longer stressed & feel prepared for the work week.

Weekend Scenes

As many of you know, I was an Event Manager in my previous position so planning a wedding should be something that comes naturally. Nope. It has been something that has stumped us both. There are so many options but at the same time, the cost is outrageous. Our friends surprised us with tickets this weekend to a Wedding Expo in St. Louis. What a great time & I think we are one step closer to finalizing our wedding plans! And by finalizing, I mean starting.

Inspiring Me Right Now

Marie Kondo who wrote the Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up has a new series on Netflix! If this doesn’t inspire you, I’m not sure what will. I love my home to be tidy. Rest doesn’t come easy for me if something is out of place. I don’t think that I can take my space to the extreme Marie does, but I have started caring for my socks a bit more.

On My Nightstand

As you know, reading a book a week was one of my goals for the new year. Maybe this intention seems unattainable, but for me, it’s beneficial to keep me aware of how I’m spending my time. When I’m mindlessly scrolling through my Instagram feed, it helps me to snap back & do something more productive with my time.

I’m so excited to report that I finished Carry On, Warrior: The Power of Embracing Your Messy, Beautiful Life by Glennon Doyle Melton this week. It was the perfect book to start my book journey of 2019. I laughed, I cried & I took a lot of her advice & plan to incorporate it into my daily life.

This week’s book will be Blog, Inc.: Blogging for Passion, Profit, and to Create Community by Joy Deangdeelert Cho.

Recipes On The Agenda

Lately I have been leaving meat out of my meals. I’m not 100% sure why this is the case, but I am enjoying finding other sources of protein. There are three blogs I read constantly to find new recipes: Skinny Taste, Love & Lemons and Delish Knowledge. This week, the following are on the agenda:

Quinoa & Kale Veggie Quesadillas
Vegan Green Rice Burrito Bowl
Lentil Walnut Taco Meat
Butternut Squash with Chili Oil, Feta & Mint

Hope this Monday treats you well! XO, Sarah
